I had the honor of accepting the Carroll H. Hynson, Jr. Award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Philanthropy. Standing on that stage, I felt humbled to receive an award named after a true pillar in our community and to be recognized for
work that is always a collective effort.
I’ve never done this work for recognition. My joy has always been in service, connecting people, opening doors, supporting nonprofits, and helping build a more equitable Anne Arundel County. So to have partners, colleagues, and community members lift me up in this way means more than I can put into words.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted me, welcomed me into their work, and allowed me to walk alongside them. This award reflects your belief in equity, your commitment to community, and your willingness to keep pushing forward.
Grateful. Humbled. Motivated to keep going.
