Before working in the public sector, I worked for an association management firm where I helped various non-profits develop marketing and communications strategies for conventions, summits, and educational events. One of my favorite organizations to work with was NAHAD - The Association for Hose and Accessories. In 2019, their conference was held in Las Vegas at the Bellagio. Working with the marketing director and graphic designer, we selected an elegant theme for the conference, using a black and gold color scheme.
It's essential that once you pick a theme for your event to be consistent in all communications. I wouldn't refer to myself as a graphic designer, more of a graphic manipulator. With the theme finalized and native files saved, I produced all other content from there.
