If you told me a year ago that I would help plan an awards ceremony named in honor of former First Lady Michelle Obama, I would have laughed. But in 2021, I had the opportunity to do just that. Since 2019, the Anne Arundel County Executive's Office and the Caucus of African American Leaders (CAAL) have partnered together to recognize women in the county who have had a meaningful impact.

We decided to produce a pre-recorded program due to COVID-19. The event featured acceptance speeches from honorees, musical performances, greetings from prominent community leaders, a spoken word segment, and interviews by County Executive Steuart Pittman with two of the award recipients.

For this project, I managed video production, created social media graphics and video, coordinated the citations, and produced the event brochure. See some examples of my work for this project below, and click here to view the entire program.
